UP Conference Brings Prairie Tech Together

Uniting the Prairies (UP) was a conference for tech startups, investors and the tech community held in Saskatoon on May 2–3.

The two-day conference, organized by Co.Labs, an Innovation Place tenant located in Saskatoon, offered an opportunity for the tech ecosystems of Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan to share knowledge, connections and investment. The sold-out event attracted over 550 people across the prairies to the Thursday evening program, then over 650 people to the full-day Friday portion.

UP featured keynotes, presentations and panel discussions with prairie tech stars Solium, SkipTheDishes, Bold Commerce, 7shifts, Benevity and more. It also brought back ex-pats who have gone on to start and work for tech companies in Silicon Valley and beyond, like Shopify, CareerList, Eventbrite, Ross Intelligence and many others.
