SREDA’s HARVEST Program Participants Visit Innovation Place

Once again, the Saskatoon Regional Economic Development Authority (SREDA) has attracted the attention of companies worldwide to visit Saskatchewan, bringing with them their agriculture advancements and innovations.

As part of SREDA’s Agriculture Technology HARVEST Program, seven global ag-tech companies were selected to travel to Saskatoon July 15 to 18, 2019. HARVEST provides financial support to international companies with technologies complementary to the province's agriculture industry.

Innovation Place was pleased to meet with several Harvest program companies to discuss the technology park's agriculture ecosystem and infrastructure, as well as tenant mix and growth potential. Many companies were looking to break into the North American market and interested in Saskatchewan's diverse agriculture opportunities.

The companies attended the 2019 Innovations in Agriculture Reception and participated in Ag in Motion, western Canada’s largest outdoor farm expo. They also met with Saskatchewan agriculture companies and professionals to showcase their unique technologies and seek business opportunities in the Saskatoon region.

HARVEST participants included:

  • 3Bar Biologics (USA) – a cutting-edge biotech company that helps the agricultural value chain optimize solutions for improved quantity and quality of crop production

  • Atmonia (Iceland) – a developer of novel technology for on-site nitrogen fertilizer production with no transportation, handling or emissions
