Alisha Esmail Wins National Award For Entrepreneurial Excellence

Congratulations Alisha Esmail, winner of the HerTurn award recognizing outstanding female entrepreneurs in Canada!

HerTurn, a new online business competition series, announced three finalists following a six week application period. Over the course of a month, these finalists faced challenges in small business marketing, public relations and growth. They also had the opportunity to work with mentors from Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC), PayPal Canada and Facebook Canada.

At the end of the series, Esmail was announced the winner of $20,000 in cash and prizes. The finale was streamed live on Facebook.

Esmail is well known in the Innovation Place community. Her startup company Filtr Trade is located at Co.Labs, Saskatchewan's first technology incubator. Filtr Trade is an online marketplace for coffee exporters to sell directly to roasters.

Esmail's branded coffee Road is served at the Concourse Coffee Lounge at the Saskatoon park.
