Innovation Saskatchewan is responsible for implementing the province’s innovation priorities and helping grow Saskatchewan’s tech sector. Effective April 2022, this includes operation of the Innovation Place technology parks in Saskatoon and Regina.
Thirty University of Saskatchewan (USask) crop research projects have been awarded a total of more than $8 million through Saskatchewan’s Agricultural Development Fund (ADF), a program jointly supported by the federal and provincial governments and supplemented by industry partners.
The ADF program is supported through the Canadian Agricultural Partnership, a five-year $388 million investment by the federal and provincial governments in strategic initiatives for Saskatchewan agriculture.
Industry funding for USask projects is provided by a wide range of organizations and agencies. Industry partners include Innovation Place tenants Western Grains Research Foundation, Saskatchewan Wheat Development Commission, Saskatchewan Canola Development Commission and Genome Canada (Genome Prairie).
