Advanced Tech Benefits Plan

We partnered with the Advanced Tech Benefits Plan to allow Innovation Place tenants and startups to spend less on employee benefits and focus more on what matters to your business.

The Advanced Tech Benefits Plan kicked off at the Waterloo Accelerator Centre in 2009 with 11 tech companies and currently almost 50 companies participate in this unique plan for tech companies. By taking part in the Advanced Tech Benefits Plan, you can join this exclusive pool of almost 50 tech companies, leveraging economies of scale with other low-risk tech companies to access amazing benefits at much lower rates.

Innovation Place tenants and startups have two options to spend less and move faster:

  • Keep existing benefits and reduce your rates
  • Employees already happy with your benefits? Move your existing benefits you know and love into the Advanced Tech Benefits pool and lower your rates.
  • Choose from one of two pre-set plans
  • Want a better employee benefits plan? Basic and enhanced plans are available that fit your needs.

  • More generous benefits, including higher Life and Long Term Disability maximums
  • More generous Life and Long Term Disability amounts available without having to provide medical evidence of insurability

  • Greater flexibility around coverage options within the Extended Health and Dental benefits

The Enhanced and Basic Plans offer coverage for Basic Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment, Optional Life, Dependent Life, Critical Illness, Long Term Disability, Dental Care and Extended Health Care.
